Philadelphia, the 1993 AIDS drama and winner of two Academy Awards including Best Actor for Tom Hanks and Best Original Song for Bruce Springsteen now available in the form of this two disc widescreen DVD collection. Philadelphia follows the story of Andrew Beckett (Tom Hanks) a gay attorney dying of the AIDS virus. Beckett had been fired from his job a homophobic law firm after they noticed and accurately guessed were AIDS related legions on his body. Beckett hires another attorney Joe Miller (Denzel Washington) to sue his former boss for discrimination based on his medical condition and sexual orientation. Due to Beckett’s worsening condition it is a race against time to find justice before he succumbs to his illness.
